Privacy Policy
Draft for legal review. Last updated 1 October 2026.
FartTracks is run by Paul Stockton, trading as FartTracks, of Auckland, New Zealand ("we", "us"). This policy explains what we collect, why, and what you can do about it. We take your privacy seriously, even if we don't take much else seriously.
What we collect
- Your recordings, with their names, lengths and playlists. Today these stay on your phone. When you sign in and share, they are uploaded so your friends can hear them.
- Your email address, if you sign in. We use it to send your sign-in code and the occasional important notice.
- Your username and friends list, if you use sharing features.
- Purchases: whether you've bought Pro. Payment details are handled by Apple or Google, never by us.
- Basic technical data, such as app version, crash reports and rough usage, to keep the app working.
What we don't do
- We only use the microphone while you're recording. Nothing listens in the background.
- We don't sell your personal information.
- Your country is worked out on your phone from its time zone, only to show the right health information. It isn't sent to us.
Ads
The free version will show ads. Ad partners may use device identifiers to show and measure ads. Where the law requires it, we'll ask for your consent first. Pro has no ads.
Where your data is kept
Data you upload is stored with our hosting provider, Supabase, on servers in the United States. By using sharing features you understand your data may be stored outside your country.
How long we keep it
We keep your recordings and account until you delete them. You can delete any recording at any time, and you can ask us to delete your account and everything in it.
Children
FartTracks isn't for children under 13. If we learn we have data from a child under 13, we'll delete it.
Your rights
Depending on where you live (for example under the New Zealand Privacy Act 2020, the Australian Privacy Act 1988, the UK GDPR or the EU GDPR), you can ask to see, correct or delete the personal information we hold about you, or complain to your local privacy regulator. Contact us and we'll help.
Changes
If we change this policy in a meaningful way, we'll tell you in the app.
